Our Technology
The heart of our Duracool technology is the groundbreaking technology for bonding textile membranes developed by Empa. This innovative process allows the creation of flexible and fine cavities in the fabric that are both waterproof and vapor permeable. These cavities can be filled with water, allowing for an "artificial sweating effect" and evaporation.
The groundbreaking potential of Duracool was first researched in 2007 in a joint study by Empa and the Valens Clinics with patients with multiple sclerosis. In this study, a cooling vest containing a vapor permeable polyester membrane was developed. The results were remarkably successful: the skin surface temperature was reduced by four degrees.
