Cool during the summer!

Cool during the summer!

Summer can be a great time for outdoor activities, but it can also be a time when temperatures rise and staying cool is a challenge.
Here are some tips on how to stay cool in summer.

1. Eat a light meal so your metabolism doesn't speed up while you're trying to relax.

2. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and prevent heat-related illnesses. Place ice packs on pulse areas, such as wrists, neck, groin, and temples, to stay cool.

3. Avoid spending time outdoors when the weather is hottest.

4. Wear loose-fitting cotton clothing that keeps your body cool.  Choose breathable and light fabrics such as cotton, linen, viscose, silk, chiffon, polyester, jersey or chambray.

5. Use fans or air conditioners to circulate air and reduce humidity.

6. Take cold showers or baths.

7. Use cooling textiles.

Personal cooling textiles offer a promising, energy-efficient solution to combat heat-related health risks and enhance worker productivity. Current strategies focus on daytime passive radiation, but research lacks all-day cooling methods. A recent study in Nano Letters reveals that integrating Janus wettability and thermal conduction into nanofibers creates textiles that can cool skin by up to 6.5°C without energy consumption.
